  • 1.  Create scan from the command line?

    Posted Mar 14, 2015 10:19 AM

    Hi,

SEP 12.1.5 on Windows 7, Unmanaged.

I've seen http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/doscanexe-sep-antivirus-scans-command-prompt-introduction about doing a scan from the command line.

Is there any way to Create and Save a scheduled scan from the command line, so that it's listed on the "Scan for threats" page and run on a schedule?

    Thanks.

I don't believe there is. Doscan is only on demand and a separate tool.

Is there any way to copy the defined scans from one unmanaged client to another without using the GUI?

All settings are stored in a DAT file. You could try copying the file but that would bring all settings with it, not just the ones for scanning.

Don't know if it works for you (I never tested it), but have a look at smc -exportconfig and
    smc -importconfig:
