Creating application extensions in a Web application installation

Hi,

I have a wsi that is a web application. I have created a Virtual Directory in this wsi - The name of the virt directory is "ArcGIS".

The wsi includes a merge module with .NET assemblies. To the ArcGIS virtual directory, I would like to add application mapping, pointing to these .NET dlls.

Since the dlls are added via a merge module, I am not able to see them when I right click on the ArcGIS virtual directory (in the Web files page), select the Home Directory tab, Configuration button > click the Add button under Application Extensions > Browse button for Executables.

I have the "Show merge module components" check box checked on under tools > Preference.

How can I add the Application extension to my web app wsi? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Note: I found this KB article on Altiris web site - Article ID: 26692FEATURE REQUEST: Allow external .EXE's to be browsed to for Isapi extensions for Web Sites.

How can I found out if this will be addressed in future releases? Or maybe the Wise Installation Studio 7.0 sp1 (version I am using) has this fix and I don't SEE it?

Thanks!

You can subscribe to an article to get notified for any changed.

"Next" version when released will have a "release note" which will contain the changes provided in this new version.

Sorry, but Wise does not publicate any release dates to prevent any dissapointment if the release date would be pushed forward.

AngelD means "pushed back" - I don't think anyone would ever be disappointed if the date was brought forward

We don't work for Wise/Altiris/Symantec so you would have to contact their tech support and ask whether they have any hotfixes available for this. I think it very unlikely that you could commission a hotfix but you never know until you ask!
