RE: Creating Hardware Independent Image on DS 6.9

Well it depends :)
If you are preparing an image for Windows XP or WIn 2003 Server then the same steps as 6.8 are to be followed.

Now, here is my experience with HI with SYSPREP and DS 6.9 for Vista and Windows 2008.

Starting in DS 6.9 when capturing an image using SYSPREP the following happens:

  • The client receives an /audit SYSPREP command, this will gather drivers. Reboot the client into production (OS).
  • SYSPREP generalize (uniqueness) happens, then the client restarts into automation and the image is captured.
I should have written a tip for this :)
