  • 1.  creating an image of a compact flash drive

I have a CF with windows 2000 that I can use to boot a system. I take the CF out that system and put it in my desktop to create an image. My Windows XP desktop sees it as a removeable drive and marks it as my F drive , but it does not show up in the Ghost console.

Is it possible to create a ghost image of a removable drive ?

When I create an image of my flash drive, I normally use ghost32.exe rather than console.
ghost32 can be found from "c:\program files\symantec\ghost" directory.
run ghost32 from windows and choose disk to image option.
then select the flash drive as source drive.
also you can create bootable floppy or cd from ghost boot wizard.
then do the same thing by using ghost.exe from dos.
for my curiosity, is your CF booting faster than normal disk? :smileysurprised:

i have ghost 9.0, which doesn't seem to provide the ghost32.exe application. Do you know what version of Ghost this comes with ?

Also, the CF boots and runs win2k very sluggishly. Its a SanDisk Ultra II 2.0 GB, but i'm not sure if it's the CF or the hardware that makes it run slowly.

oh. you are using ghost 9.0
ghost 9.0 is the completely different product from Ghost Solution Suite.
    so it doesn't have ghost32.exe
I haven't used much of ghost 9.0 so I'm not sure why it doesn't display CF. :smileysad:
