Hi, I am trialing Ghost Solution Suite for my company as we are concidering rolling it out on all of our machines, what we want to use it for is to take an image of a working machine, save that image then use that image to image other machines.

I have instaled the ghost console and remotely installed the client on the machine i want to take the image from but i just cannot figure out how to take the image from it?

Please help as i only have a few days of my triel left.

What operating system are you trying to image?  Is your version of Ghost at 11.5.1.2266 ?  What machine(s) are you trying to image?

As for licensing, assuming you are running Win 7, are you going to be using a KMS server or a volume MAK key?  Will you be running Sysprep before imaging the machine?

We will be buying a volume MAK key. and we probebly will use sysprep but im not too worried about that at this stage.

How are you testing it?  There are several ways to make an image, including booting from, say, WinPE boot media, which maps to a network share and runs Ghost, or using the Ghost Console to image remotely. The latter does present a few challenges where the target machine does not have Vista drivers (as the version of WinPE shipping with Ghost still uses V2, based on the Vista kernel). Updates are in the pipeline however, and as you are in a pre-sales situation, you should be able to get some support direct from Symantec.  Have a look at the big thread about when Ghost 3 will arrive - David Evans is now driving the update process and may be a good place to start when trying to get the latest releases of Ghost executables.
