Creating .pkg instead of .app

This issue has been solved. See solution.

We used to get .pkg installers for SEP.  With 12.1.4, we're getting .app installers.  I asked the people who run SEP here, and they have no idea... it's like I'm speaking Martian.  What can I point them to that will spell out EXACTLY what they need to do to produce a .pkg installer?

Please take a look at:

Exporting and Deploying a Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4 for Mac client via Apple Remote Desktop or Casper

http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO92266

The SEP Mac 12.1.4 installer, when run on the Mac, gives you an option under "Tools" in the menu bar to "Create remote deployment package"; this creates your desired .pkg.

The SEP client installer for Mac changed in SEP12.1RU4 to the .app format, and I don't think a .pkg installer is available from the SEPM for this version.

The 12.1RU2 client installers still export as .pkg, and there's a .dmg SEP for Mac installer in the original installation media downloaded from fileconnect if that helps.

Otherwise, I reckon you're looking at either a 3rd party tool to convert the installer, or logging a case with Symantec Support to investigate your options.
