Creating a task that runs multiple connector import/export rules.

Created: 29 Nov 2013 | 2 comments

Does anyone know how to set up a task or policy to trigger multiple connector import/export rules to run?

I am running Altiris 7.1 SP2. Thank you.

What is wrong with using the schedule option that comes with those rules?

Yes, create a new server job, and when adding new tasks to it, select the "run connector rule" task type from the "server tasks" folder. Add as many as you need, but I've found that depending on how long each rule takes to complete, if you add too many to the job, it seems to time out and never finish.

@SK - Sometimes it is necessary to run connector rules in sequence. Especially when dealing with associations e.g. a connector rule that imports departments followed by one that assigns users to those departments. This can be difficult to accomplish reliably scheduling each connector to run individually.
