  • 1.  Crystal report integration with NS 7.0 SP4

    Hi,

     
    What level of integration exists between NS7 & Crystal Reports? Can a new report be created within the NS as a Crystal Report? Can an existing report be saved in a supported Crystal Reports format? Will

    Any ideas?

    You should be able to use the CMDB as a data source for reports you build in Crystal Reports, since Crystal Reports supports SQL as a data source.  However, this isn't something I've done, and it is not integrated with Altiris.  You cannot create a new Crystal report or save as a Crystal report or anything within the interface, and it does not come with any Crystal reports by default.

    We have to document everything for FDA audits and we use Crystal Reports for almost all software installations.We just build custom crystal reports after linking to the DB tables we need to get informaiton form. Right now we are still on DS 6.9 SP4 and NS 6.x but are moving to 7.1 SP2 and will just need to rebuild them all based on the new tables.

    I have been told that ITAnalytics can be useful to build reprts that are more customizable that what Altiris give oyu OOB.
