Deployment Solution

Hello All,

I've hit a brick wall trying to come up with a solution to why .csv files won't import computers anymore in our deployment console. This has been an issue ever since we upgraded to 6.9. When we try to import any .csv file it generates the following error message. Error importing computer number 1, in the field 'NIC 1 alternate WINS'. I thought it might be our old 6.8 .csv files weren't formatted correctly for the new version of deployment console, but even the .xls file sample that's located in the Samples folder in the 6.9 install won't import and generates the same error message. Importing the tab delimited sample txt file in the samples folder does work.

I've tried both leaving the alternate WINS field empty and populated and it makes no difference, I found one other person on the forums having the same issue, but his solution is more of a improvised fix than an actual answer to why the .csv file won't work. Below is a link to his post.

Any help or even a .csv computer import file someone has working for their 6.9 console would be great.

We had this issue and had to add a blank column to our spreadsheet.

Here is the first 6 columns of our import file, the one labeled added had to be put in in order to import after the upgrade to 6.9. Hope this helps.
