I'm hoping someone will be able to help with this issue:

We’ve created a custom Inventory (and hence custom data class) to collect asset location info from our clients.

Some client data is missing (around 1/3 of our environment) and it appears to stem from a database restore that was performed, i.e. the data in the custom table was lost after the restore  but Altiris appears to think the data already existed and hasn't changed, therefore doesn't update the table (as if it's doing a delta update) .

Trying to resend the data using a vbs doesn't work unless you actually change the data  first.

It looks like the NS is checking against something (as the clients successfully send the NSE's and the NS processes them) to see if the data already exists and hasn't changed, but what is it checking?

Is it that there is a separate table with entries for each asset that it’s checking against or maybe a file, like the client's bak files?

    Many thanks for your help

I don't have the answer that you're looking for, but as a possible workaround, you could just create a new dataclass...

Many thanks for taking the time to post a reply Zak.

In light of the lack of responses it looks like this might be my only option.
