I created a custom security role for our Helpdesk and onsite agents to the console to view computers and job/tasks.

I have granted access to specific tasks, but when trying to execute I get the following error:

"user doesn't have access to 'run script' permissions"

Any ideas where to enable this access?

If you go to security, permissions

Select role the helpdesk people are in

Next to View select All Items

Then navigate to Tasks --> Jobs and Tasks --> Folder where tasks are and make sure under system permissions they have read privs and under task server they have ability to run tasks?

That should propagate down to all scripts in that folder, I think.

I added both run task & run script, to the folder where my tasks reside. It is working for the package delivery tasks, but still getting the error for run script tasks.

"You don't have one or more of the permissions 'Run Script' on these computers."

I had this same problem a long time ago, support sorted it out via webex.  Wish I had notes on what they did to share with you but can't find any.  If you get a ticket in, hopefully it'll be a quick fix unless someone else here has ideas.  allocating permissions is way more confusing than it should be.

As a workaround I just created a batch file with the command then and imported into the software catalog.

I had this error as well, You don't have one or more of the permissions "Run Script" on these computers:

    Open Security Role Manager,

    Select your Role (Help Desk?)

Select Resources from the View menu.

Browse to Resource Management\Organizational Views\Active Directory Domains

Select the domain, and then check the box Run Script under Task Server Permissions

This took care of it for me.
