DAgent and Windows 7 Startup Issues

I am unable to consistently, and on some PCs never, get the Dagent to show in the systray or the client to show active in DS. And when it does show or go active it seems to take about 16 minutes anytime the agent starts, or a config change is made to it. I have not been able to determine how to change that time. Or how to get the agent to reliably show. We are running DS6.9sp3. I also am having trouble with stopping the Dagent service sometimes. It returns an error that it is unable to stop the service. But when you look at it is stopped, I am able to restart it but no Dagent in the systray. I had disabled the Win 7 Firewall and then thought it might be still running. After enabling it and then "allowing" all inbound in all three firewall profiles, then turning each of the three off the Dagent showed after the 16 minute thing. At least that seems how I got it to work. Anyway, it is ongoing issue. Maybe I have something wrong in Windows, or on the server, or in the agent setup.  It also does not offer an opportunity to load the settings you want for the Dagent like password, remote control, etc. during the install. ANY help is appreciated.

Please post the logs from one of the failed agents. I can help decypher it from there.

Same issue here

Hi all Altiris friends,

I'm bumping this post as I have the same problem.

It takes 16 minutes for the DAgent Client to connect to the server upon first boot or after a configuration change to the client. The log follows and "highlighted" in bold is the section which causes me most concern. A series of [11/26/2009 11:06:12.605 1440 2] DsAgent.cpp:625 CDSAgent::AgentCommand - QueryShutdownState, followed by, [11/26/2009 11:06:42.573 1440 1] WaitForSysPrep.cpp:43 - Image state is IMAGE_STATE_UNDEPLOYABLE lines lasts for the 16 minutes. There seems to be a problem here with sysprep. Quite what Image state is IMAGE_STATE_UNDEPLOYABLE means or how it is fixed, I don't know. (Maybe I should look at the some sysprep logs in the mean time!)

Any ideas?? :)
