Deployment Solution

All the vista laptops in my DS are unable to start the Altiris Deployment Agent service. The icon shows in the systray but the status says connecting to server and never connect ot the DS. The clients never show up in the DS console. I have no issues with the Aclient and XP computers. I was able to upgrade the Aclient on a Server 2003 to the DAgent and it communicates fine. I can connect to the DS from the laptops just fine and can get to port 402 - I also have disabled the windows firewall. The DS was just build it is version 6.9Sp1 Build 365 - Any ideas?

Did you make sure that DAgent is point at the correct IP for the server?

Yes - the IP is correctly configured - I can ping and attach to the DS without issue fron the client. I have also made sure that the windows firewall is completly disabled - My feeling is that some setting on the base Vista build is blocking the communication to the DS server. I have no issue with XP or server 2003 using the DAgent.

I can't think of anything but the firewall that would stop DAgent from communicating. Does the DAgent version match the DS version?

It should I just built the DS and vista machines last week im my test enviorment. I used the latest download
