Deployment Solution

I'm a newbie, and tring to run a boot iso that runs dagent. It connects tothe the altiris deployment server with out a problem, and runs scripts (manually). I'm not understanding how to modify the runagent.bat file to get the dagent to run a job once it connects.
Little background, we have custom boot disk(iso) that connects to the altiris server. we have had problem in the past using PXE.

The process of the DAgent/AClient/ADlagent is to connect up and check on the serverside, if there is a job scheduled for the client - or possibly be part of an initial deployment job.

Thus you can't really by default tell the dagent to run a job from the client side. Having said this, there are some tools (axsched) that would allow you do probably do somehting along those lines with some scripting.

Perhaps describe what happens now and what you're wanting to happen would make it easier to give some better advice.

Well currently we are going into the deployment console and clicking on the job and scheduling per server that connects.
I have been able to setup the winpe 2.1 to create iso's to use specific ip addresses that point to a particular altiris server. I would like to have it connect and just start running the install script. ..Oh I am still playing with gettting the servers to go into a specific folder other than new computers. If there was a way to set a job to run wen a server connects to that computers folder that would work too. We use Altiris just to image servers. the job will be able to do all the other "thinking" I just not certain how to get it to start without any human input.

I would like for them to be able to mount the iso on the server they are building and when they come back the iso connected to the altirs server and the scripts have run...thus having a complete build.

After looking up axsched..it is exactly what I am looking for.
Playing with it now to see if I can make everything work right, but from the looks of things this is not going to be very hard.

I am sort of curious about the comment "possibly be part of an initial deployment job".
