Should we be using the Dagent on XP Pro instead of the Aclient? If so, what are the advantages?

thanks in advance for any insight.

What is the ratio between XP and Vista in your environment?
If XP is more than 30 % keep the AClient for awhile. The DAgent on XP is not fully stable so far, I am doing some tests with new version coming from the development team and there are still some unstability which are not okay for a production environment

    Thanks

I have had nothing but problems with dagent. My advice, if you don't have Vista or Windows 2008, don't use it. AClient works great on Windows XP and earlier and Windows 2003 and earlier.

This is at least the 3rd post on this subject. Not sure why people don't search first.
From my testing DAgent is far from stable on anything before Vista so don't even bother using it at this point.

I thought I'd read somewhere on this forum or maybe release notes on 6.9 SP1 that Dagent issues had been worked out on XP.... and when you go to push an install on SP1, the default is Dagent. I knew older versions had trouble... just checking on this one. Should've clarified :-).

    Thanks.

I'm using the latest version of DAgent and won't even stay connected on XP. On Vista it works fine.
In the Remote Agent Installer there is a check box to use AClient instead of DAgent when pushing to older OS computers.

I agree with Anthony on this. I'm at the latest and greatest release (6.9 SP1) and have nothing but problems with the dagent. The minute I went back to the aclient (as I fortunate enough to be an 100% XP shop), the problems went away. The problems ranged from being insecure (inability to set a password on the dagent gui), to clients dropping off, to clients never showing up as logged in. Remote control never worked well for me either via the dagent.
