So I have an interesting issue.  I have setup Live Update Admin and am using the built in Test and Production environments.  In EndPoint Prot. Mgr, I have setup a ‘Test’ group and a ‘Production’ group to correspond with the Live Update environments.  Supposedly then my ‘must test’ downloads get distributed, the most current download should go directly to the test environment which is set to distribute to the ‘Test’ group.  Once they are sufficiently tested and I ‘pass’ them in Live Update Admin, they will then distribute out to the Production environment and group.

My issue is that I get the downloads just fine and Live Update says the test environment is using the latest DAT download but the clients in my ‘test’ group are running about a full day behind when I look at the actual EP client on the machines.

    Ex:

2/2 @ 5:30 AM – Live update dl’s ‘must test’ DATS for Feb. 2nd (2 or 3 times a day actually, different revisions)

2/2 @ 8:00 AM – Live update distributes the newly dl’d ‘must test’ DATS to the test and production environments.

During the next scheduled distribution (every 4 hours as I have it set), the Feb. 2nd DATS should be pushed to the ‘test’ group clients for testing.  However this doesn’t happen until the next day sometime for no reason that I can figure out.

Can you please make sure that clients are connecting to Test server for DAT and not to production servers? Two ways to check it.

    1. Start LiveUpdate from client and observe the server name being displayed in UI

    2. Open file - C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Settings.Default.LiveUpdate. And search for HOST0 entry. It should point to your host server
