Created: 11 Aug 2014 | 3 comments

Dear Team, We are using Symantec Backup Exec 12 in our  head office and doing the backup/recovery for all of our applications. We having multiple remote sites which are connected through MPLS and there file servers located on each sites, currently there is no backup plan on those servers. We need to do the backup for those file servers with out affecting the MPLS connection. Is there anyway we can obtain this, Management server is located in HO.

You can test the backups by pushing out the remote agents to the remote servers and doing the backups.  You would have a 60-days trial period to do your testing.

Do note that BE is sensitive to line quality.  If there are dropped packets, your backups will fail.

I have tested already by pushing the agent, it is working properly but it utilizing highbandwidth on the link. Do we have any option to do the disk backup locally on the remote site with out affecting the link.

No. The data will always flow from the source to the media server then to the media.
