    Hello,

If you have scanned a guest virtual machine or security group and know that certain files are safe, you can exclude them from scanning. In some cases, exceptions can reduce scan time and increase system performance. Exceptions are the known files, file extensions, and folder paths that you want to exclude from a scan.

You can add files, file extensions, folders, and subfolders to the exclusions list. By default, all network folders and subfolders are excluded from scanning. If you do not want to exclude a network folder from scanning, remove \\ from the Excluded Folders list underScan Exclusion > Folders. However, excluding network folders and subfolders from scanning is likely to affect system performance.

    To exclude files from scanning

    1. In the Add Policy or Edit Policy page, go to Scan Exclusion.

    2. Enter information in the following fields:

      Extensions

Add file extensions to the exclusions list to exempt them from scanning.

      Folders

Add folder paths to the exclusions list to exempt them from scanning. Optionally, subfolders can be included in or excluded from the exclusions list. By default, all network folders and subfolders are excluded from scanning.

      Files

Add files to the exclusions list to exempt them from scanning.

    3. Click Save.

    Regards,
