database backup are failing with error 84

Hi everyone,

recently we are facing problems with databse backup it always failed with error 84 :

**Master server: solaris 10 Netbackup 7.5.0.3

**Media server : Soalris 10 Netbackup 7.5.0.3 (where the database exist)

i think that this issue have something with the media (tapes...)

any suggestions.

That certainly looks like a bad tape cartridge or tape drive.  I would look into the tape library logs and review any messages there.

Check syslog(/var/adm/messages) if any relevant SCSI error was logged.

SOLUTION/WORKAROUND:
A reboot of the media server can cleared all the SCSI reservations/conflicts thus allowing the drives to stay up until the hardware issue is addressed.  Please contact the hardware manufacturer for assistance in resolving any hardware configuration issues.
