    Hello and thx in advance

I am running symantic endpoint protection which at the moment dosnt work.
    1. First i cant login "authentication failure: please try again" aparrently the person who installed the program forgot the code
    2. Then i used the "resetpass.bat" and waited 15 mins with no luck.
    3. Then i read that it could be the database so i ran the database validation tool wich wont finish last thing it writes is cant open database.
    4. Then i heard that i should restore the database, but i havnt worked with this software before so iam afried that i would cause harm to the system, i can se the restore option under programs but will it work ?
    Hope you will help

You need to wait for more than 15 mins sometimes.

set your system clock for more than 30 mintues. try loggin in again.

once you are able to log in ..put back the same time.

    forget about dbvalidator for now.

It has been seen that users Cannot log Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager after changing authentication method in directory server integration
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/cannot-log-symantec-endpoint-protection-manager-after-changing-authentication-method   If that is the case

try to login into SEPM with user name as "admin" and domain administrator .

After you are able to login successfully change the login type back to Symantec authentication

    Note

: If this works well and Good , Else we have to reinstall SEPM using   http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007082112135948
