DB2 db backups on AIX getting "Script exited with status = 4 <archive file removal failed>"

Created: 30 Aug 2013 | 1 comment

Nothing more in the Activity Monitor's parent process detail log other than the next line which says "bphdb exit status = 6: the backup failed to back up the requested files".  Any idea where this path to the archive file might be located??

Failed parent process forced a rerun of the backup.  Currently have logging enabled.

This just started happening.  No NetBackup or AIX updates on the applicable LPAR have occurred for several months.

Thanks!

Look to the bphdb log file on the client for for information.

example

From the DB2 standard output file (found in the /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bphdb/ directory, by default):

SQL2071N  An error occurred while accessing the shared library
"/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdb2.so64". Reason code: "2"
