dbo.resourcekey - NS7 - Imaging Issues.

just wanted to ping anyone else while I am waiting for Symantec support to work on this issue to see if anyone else had experienced it and what the solution might have been.

I am running NS7 and SQL 2005. I have been having issues doing image jobs on machines. Basically the automation starts but its as if once it gets into automation the machine never gets the job from NS.

After nosing around my database for a while, Symantec support noticed that the test machine I was using had a dbo.resourcekey / UNIQUEID value that consisted of both upper and lower case characters - but when inventory gets sent from the client it gets converted into all UPPER case in the database.

Due to this, there is a key mismatch which they believe is the reason that the failure in job handoff is occurring.

They are researching to determine whether it is something on the Altiris NS side of things, or something that needs to be changed in my SQL settings to prevent this upper case conversion from occurring. I have made no changes at all to any settings in my SQL server - it is bone stock default settings.

I am a newb to Altiris land - so my descriptions above may be lacking, but I thought it couldn't hurt to throw the issue out there and see if any of you have experienced anything similar yourselves.
