  • 1.  dbsrv11.exe high CPU and sqla0000.tmp growing rapidly?

Have Endpoint 12.1 running on Server 2008 R2 with 8GB of Ram, and I noticed that the AV definitions were out of date by a week.  Tried to login to the Endpoint Manager, but it hung.  Restarted all of the Symantec services and then I could login - ran Liveupdate and everything updated fine.

Then I noticed that one of the CPU Cores was maxed out by the dbsvr11.exe process.  Started researching and found others are having this issue and another symptom is the sqla0000.tmp file in C:\Windows\Temp grows rapidly.  That file was created today and has grown over 2GB in 3 hours.

I ran the dbvalidator tool and it passed.

The Server is noticibly slow and Im sure this is the reason why.

    Can anyone help here?

It seems that you have to dump the process dbsrv11.exe and get an outpit for that.

I would recommend you to create a Case with Symantec Technical Support Team. They would take a proc dump of the process and debugg it.

    Hi,

    Yeah, open a support case.

Also see if the link helps to fix the issue to some extent
