DCM 3 - Display Inventory

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help.
Across all of our Optiplex systems none are reporting their Display Inventory.
In the local event log this is displayed on the detection process
0011: The following display assets have been discovered on this computer -
1. DELL E248WFP, ID=DELA02D, S/N=xxxxxxxxxxx, Age=6851 hours
Display asset attributes have been written to c:\program files\softosd\softosd.mif
If I run the display inventory task it fails with the error Unsupported device.

perhaps it is actually not supported as reported.
as far as I know supported displays are:
Display Asset Management-Capable Flat Panel Monitors include:
• CY09 Entry & UltraSharp Flat Panel Monitors (FPMs). (Excluding 2009W & 2709W.)
Entry Category: E1609W, E1709W, E1909W, E2009W, E2209W
Ultrasharp category: 1909W, 1708FP-BLK, 1908FP-BLK, Specialty 2209WA, AIO FPM - 1909W USFF, 1909W SFF
• Above monitor models that are manufactured after 1st June 2008
