  • 1.  Decryption stuck for days on 18.30%

    Im running "Symantec Encryption Dekstop" Version 10.3.0 and Im trying to decrpyt my external USB drive before I hand the associcated laptop back to the company I left. The issue is its stuck and been stuck for days on 18.3% 352.0GB of 1863.0GB.

    The staus slider flashes from right to left but nothing else is happening, the drive is quiet itself. If I click on STOP and enter my password again nothing happens. I've tried rebooting to no effect.

     

    There are error mesages on screen or in the logs.

     

    It appears as if I file is locked somehere.  Any idead what may be causing this beahviour?

    Check the logs to see why encryption/decryption  is getting paused, usually it gets paused if there is a bad sector on HD or if laptop is on battery power. Make sure laptop is on AC power when encrypting or decrypting the HD.

    You might want to try decrypting with pgpwde commands and see if that helps.
