This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi Folks,

I am using Backup Exec 2012 SP1a on Windows Server 2008R2 with 32Gb Ram and 2xCPU with 4Cores.

I've created an Dedupe Storage Area and I disabled the Client Side Deduplication on the Storage.

After completing the first Backup on an Vmware Host the job completes with exceptions.

Clientseitige Deduplizierung ist für diesen Auftrag aktiviert, konnte jedoch nicht verwendet werden. Prüfen Sie diesen Link auf zusätzliche Informationen:

On the VM I installed the the Remote Backup Agent.

While searching for an option to disable the Client Side Deduplication in the Backup Job I found this article:

Unfortunately in my version of Backup Exec 2012 SP1a there is no option in the Job to disable Deduplication.

What can I do to prevent this error?

Many greetings

Unfortunately in my version of Backup Exec 2012 SP1a there is no option in the Job to disable Deduplication.

If you target other media like a disk storage, the data will not be deduplicated.

If you actually meant that you cannot disbale client-side dedup, post a screenshot your job propery to show why you cannot do as the document suggested.

Hi pkh,

that's exactly what I meant. I want to disable client side dudupe.

CSD-Device shows the dedupe Device settings = Dedupe = disabled

CSD-HOST shows that the server is not allowed to use the shared dedupe folder from the BE Server

CSD-Job shows the "missing" dedupe Option at the job.

Hi Vjware,

looks like this works. I enabled CSD on the device and were able to configure the job options.

Tomorrow I report back if the error is gone.

Many thanks for your response!
