    Posted Nov 07, 2010 08:50 PM

    Hi All,

Just wondering what's the default communication port from SEP for Win XP Embedded to SEPM? Is it the same as SEP?

and yeah how to change the default port in case the port is already used by other app?

    regards

what port should be used for communication is decided at the time you install your symantec endpoint protection manager;if the manager is installed on default port then its port 80; most of the times the custom port ( by default) is 8014, you can change this to any number you want; however once clients are installed; they will always use this port.

no matter on which client u install the software; if will  be always the port of sepm. You can change this port too; if u want.

follow this article to change the manager port

    Hi Rafeeq,

Means it doesnt matter whether it's SEP 11 or SEP for Win XPe (embedded) 5.1, all of them depends on SEPM for the default communication settings (ports)?

It just want to do final confirmation before closing this thread. Thanks again!

Yes , you are correct, the Commuincation mode and ports to be used is decided by the SEPM, the clients just adhere to it
