    Hello,

I'd need to understand the default gateway setting on SMG; version I am using is 10.5.1. I have two ethernet interfaces eth0 and eth1; default gateway we configured during the server installtion or the one visible under Administation --> Scanner --> Ethernet; it seems to get applied to eth0. Could we change the default gateway to get applied to eth1 as we have IP's in different subnets on eth0 and eth1 and I want to default gateway applied to eth1.

I know this can be done using "route add" command but that would not be permanent and erased incase of reboot.

    Thanks!

It's unclear what you're asking for.  What do you want to happen here?

You have the option of putting whatever you want in the network configuration for either port.  If the ports are on different subnets, then they will naturally have different gateways.

The only thing to be aware of is if you give them IP addresses on the same subnet, as it goes a bit funny on you then:

    Hi,

Thanks for sharing couple of useful articles; my query was when we assing IP's to the scanner during initial installation or under Administration --> Scanner --> Ethernet --> Default gateway on which interface it got attached to. What I came to know it would be always eth0; though you could have static routes for specific networks and you can select which interface you want to use; but then there would be only one default gateway you could configure and that would always be with your eth0.

Using route -n on scanner would show all the routes and it would show that default gateway is with eth0.

    Thanks!
