    Posted Jan 22, 2009 12:10 PM

Is there a way to alter the default path for where the definition files are loaded?  I installed the above software on my E drive but the files are being stored on my local C drive which has little space and cannot update definition files because of it.  Can anyone help me?

    Hello,

So unfortunately no you can't move the AV definitions to another drive and you will have to find another way to save space. What you have done is pretty much all you can do by installing to another drive.

And just to let you know, for Mail Security for Exchange questions you will want to post in the "Groupware" section of the forums. I just happened to actually know the answer to this one. :smileyhappy:

    Thanks!

    Tom

One more thing Tom, if you don;t mind.. SMS for exchange HAS to be installed on the same server as exchange correct?

    Hello again,

So this one I'm not so sure about. With all the changes with Edge servers and things like these I really don't know. I do know that it at least used to be that way. Without being installed on the Exchange server you don't get all the bells and whistles like Store scanning, etc. (A major piece of MSE)

You might be best served by logging a case with support in order to answer some more of the in depth architecture questions.

    Thanks again!
