Hi,

Return code 4 error is very generic.

Reinstall liveudpate,register liveupdate by following article shared by Pete, repair SEPM.

Try to run liveupdate.

Are you using a Proxy on the Environment??

If yes, have you made the necessary changes in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager for the same.?

Incase, the above steps haven't resolved your issue.

Could you upload the Log.liveupdate from

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate

Return code 4 is a generic error.

Need to know the following :-

1] Is there any proxy configured

2] Is there any specific time liveupdate is failing

3] What is free disk space on that machine.
