    Hello all,

Cheers for the posts, above- yes, SEP 12.1 definitions are available via LiveUpdate.  For customers still running SEP 11 (please upgrade to 12.1, SEP 11 users: less than four months remain before SEP 11 reaches its EOL) I recommend downloading and applying Rapid Release definitions as soon as possible.

This article will help to deploy this protection throughout the organization:

How to update definitions for Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) using a .jdb file

    Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH102607

Or the RR defs can be applied to a single client:

How to apply rapid release definitions to a Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client.

    Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH104979

Should definitions ever be unavailable for more than a day via LiveUpdate, I definitely recommend applying a Rapid Release set.

Hope this helps!  I will update this thread later when news is available.

    Mick

So what you're saying is that only SEP 12.1 definitions have been released through LIve Update? Are they not going to release definitions for SEP 11 through Live Update?

No idea if they're having issues, or if it's intentional, but our local BCS engineer has informed us the next Defs release will occur approx. in 2 hours time from this post I am making now.

Without a doubt, it's one of the longest gaps by Symantec in quite some time.

Yes, I noticed the same issue in our environment... this is how my dashboard looked after checking in the RR:

I didn't realise this was an issue earlier in the month, but I'm surprised it's happened twice in the last few weeks!

What your seeing there is simply a well-known refresh issue that goes back years.

I'd call it a defect, but Symantec simply see it as a refresh-lag issue that takes time to 'update'.
Funny, other vendor products don't have such an issue.

Very true - no communication whatsoever from BCS support though.
