  • 1.  definitions version on console mixed up?

Can someone please explain what is being seen in this snapshot - and how the definitions on the management be NEWER than those from Symantec??

In the console, it shows the latest from Symantec as being r3 and yet those on the manager as being r33 - and 33 is later, newer, a bigger number.

How can the manager have newer defs than what is available from symantec? Or do I have my monitor up-side-down and I'm really reading it wrong? Or have I gone crazy? Or do I have this management server setup so well that it can use defs that no one has even created yet?

In a way, this is cool as I could tell the boss I'm using defs no one else has yet because Symantec only has r3 and I'm using r33, I'm so good.

PS - it does the same with LiveUpdate - it says LU last ran at Wednesday January 25th at10 am, and the next run is Wednesday, January 25th at 9 am

I think I found the time warp button in the console is what happened................

    Hello,

I agree with Pete. Thumbs up for Fast Thinking..

Was a Rapid Release Patch Applied?

I just verified, there was a Rapid Release r33 patch released. Infact, I see SEP 12.1 clients updated the AV/AS with r33 patch on my Machine.

Could you also check what do you see under Admin > Servers > Local Site > Show Liveupdate Downloads?

    Hope that helps!!

Here it is - LU runs automaticlly, nothing special was run in this particular case. Just whatever it found. If it downloaded r33, but only r3 is avilable from Symantec, and the LU dates are even incorrect... makes me wonder if it's a console mix-up. How can the next run be before the last run?

Here's the list of defs - hope that gives a clue..... it didn't help me any. Not yet anyway.  ;-)
