I used PGP WDE to encrypt three partitions on my hard drive, though NOT The operating system partition (only the data ones). I am attempting to prepare this computer to give to someone else, and need to remove all the software. Here is the problem: I deleted the three encrypted partitions using Computer/Manage/Disk Management without decrypting them with PGP. Bootguard still thinks they are there (is this because of the MBR?) and therefore won't let me uninstall PGP. I have rebooted the system using the PGP recovery disk, it comes up with the Bootguard recovery screen, asks me for my decryption password, then says "decrypting boot disk" along with "0% remains encrypted". It has been like that for two days, and the HD LED is flickering the whole time. Will this just run its course (it's a 500GB drive although only about 150GB was encrypted)? Do I need to do something with the MBR? If so, HOW? Remember, the Windows (Vista) partition is not encrypted.
Thanks in advance, and yes, I know NOW that I should have decrypted those partitions before deleting them!
