Deletion of Items in a Media Set

Created: 28 Jan 2005 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments

I am under a new installation. During poking around I created 2 items in a media set. Here are the facts:

Media Set Name: Media Set 1
Items: 2
Item 1 Label: B2D000001
Total Size: 1 GB
Bytes Written: 1GB

Item 2 Label: B2D000002
Total Size: 1 GB
Bytes Written: 244MB

Both are Overwrite Protection Infinite
Both are backup to Disk

How can I delete these. There are no jobs pending. The only option I have is to move these to a different media set but I cannot delete them. Any advice is appreciated.

To delete the the Backup-to-disk files from the media set follow these steps

- Go to the "Media" tab and select "Media Set 1"
- Select the " B2D000001" and right click on it
- Select "Move Media"
- In the drop-down list select "Retired Media" and click "OK"
- Now go to "Retired Media" under "System Media".
- On the right-hand side selct the "B2D000001" and right click on it
- Select "Delete"

Follow the same procedure for "B2D000002" as well.

Hope this helps
