  • 1.  Dell E6420 rebooting automatically after encryption?

    Posted Dec 14, 2011 02:55 PM

I have a few users with new Dell E6420 laptops that when logging in to the PGP screen after encryption has completed, they are blue screening and rebooting on their own. But, if I were to log in with our administrator account, get to the ctrl + alt + del screen and have them log in, everything is fine. Any thoughts on this??

At least up to PGP 10.1, there was fixes for somewhat similar problems for similar versions of the Dell - if you are not at the most recent version of PGP (10.2), I'd suggest upgrading.

Is this problem only from non-admin accounts?

Were at the newest version due to those past problems we experienced as well. After doing an update policy though and restarting it seems to have cleared the issue. Not sure how that would affect the blue screen though. I'll have to keep an eye on it for a bit.

Great - if this remains working as it should, I'd suggest you marking your last post with the Mark As Solution option.

Probably WDE was refreshed when upgrading policy, and that fixed the bootguard issue.
