Dell Servers do not show up in DMC

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I installed the Dell Management Console in my NS7 build. I have deployed the Altiris Agent to my servers but none of my Dell Servers are showing up in any Dell filters. Am I missing something? In NS6, there were Dell discovery and rule engine packages but I find none of that in the new version.

Any help is appreciated.

Can the servers be pinged?

Make sure you can ping the servers, also make sure you have OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator) on the Dell Servers) with SNMP set up.  After that, re-run the discovery and you should see the Dell Servers show up now under the Dell Computer heading.

If not, give Dell a call at 1-800-945-3355 and ask for the DMC support queue.

That did it

They are pingable and had OMSA. I didn't use the discovery wizard, though. That did the trick.

Thanks!

Follow up question...

Does the Dell Monitor 7 contain all of the metrics that 6 had, like all of the hardware (array health, drive failure, etc.)?

There are a numbert of built in alerts and metrics

for the DMC monitoring and alerting. I don't have a v6 in front of me (do you mean IT Assist?), however all the topics you mentioned are covered.
