Anyone seeing their inventory tasks failing in Windows 7 64 bit? Will they fail if it is outside a maintanance window?

My folder for the inventory agent is empty. When I run the install the files are added but the then errors out and rolls back the installation. This seemed to happen after the upgrade to MR2.

Agent Folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Inventory Agent\

Error when Running Symantec_InventoryAgent_x86.msi:

Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

This error seems to happend at the end of the install when it is restarting the agent.

Environment:

Windows 7 64-bit

Users only have User Permissions.

Looks like a script is run to cleanup the old agent but since it can't find the old agent the install fails. It should just continue on.

If you guys upgraded to the Inventory Solution 7.0.1278, I suggest double checking your inventory agent. The upgrade package seemed to have hosed up most of my machines. You can use the AgentUtil.exe /Clean  command to remove the agents on your managed boxes and then push the agents back out to fix it.

My NS server has a screwed up Inventory Agent too. Not sure How I am going to get around that one.
