  • 1.  Deploy agents in different languages?

    Posted Jun 25, 2014 04:14 AM

    Hello,

we have installed our Endpoint Management Server (Small Business Edition) in german.

Deployment of german endpoint agents works fine.

Some of the attached computers are installed in french,

is there a way to deploy a french agent to these computers?

    With best regards

    André

you need to have cd downloaded from fileconnect with french version and use thos clientpackage to push to the client machines using 3rd party software

Do you have a simple step to put the correct symlink.xml in that package?

(Some users are remote and I would like to just push/publish a FR setup.exe)

You can use to sylinkdrop tool for replacing sylink.xml

Copying a Sylink.xml file to the installation files to make managed clients

download the language file you would like to install.

Export the sylink file from a group. ( not sure even if this option is availabe in SMB)

put the sylink inside the CD1\SEP folder

depoloy it, options is in SMB are limited....

    You can try this process.

To copy Sylink.xml file to the installation files

    1. If you have not done so, install a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.

See Installing Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.

    2. Export a Sylink.xml file from the correct client group.

See Exporting the client-server communications file manually.

    3. Copy the SEP or SEPx64 folder on the product disc to a folder on your computer. Then, to create a managed client, copy the Sylink.xml file into that destination folder.

I can take the sylink.xml from another package, that works.

    Thanks
