If I ask the Deploy Anywhere function while restoring, it gives me the following error on every computer:

A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. CHECK failed, Argument::GetInt32: .\CommonArgumentTypes.cpp(156): false.

I've tried to search on google, but I did not find anything. Can anyone help me?

I had little luck with DA and did some searching - seems it is difficult to work with, somewhat temperamental.

Came across a universal imaging utility at www.uiu4you.com that prepares a source to be hardware independent.  My initial testing is encouraging, but I took some time off and haven't finished yet.

DA is not temperamental especially when you use it from the Console. When you are using it from command-line directly - I advise you study Ghost implementation guide for all command-line parameters thoroughly before you start using it.

How are you using it? It is hard to diagnose anything without even a command-line that you pass to DA executable? It maybe incorrect parameter syntax or really it coule be anything else. Can you please be more specific with command-line or Console parameters etc?

Thanks.

we have a task. it's called restore. In general properties of 'restore', we checked the following options:

task steps: clone, deploy anywhere and configuration. We starting the task, and the Ghost is backup the image, and the next step is an error message, that we send for you.

From CL, temperamental in that an errant space, hash or bracket causes it to fail.

From the console, it is more usable, but is there any way around the BSOD I get? Do the HALs and chipsets need to be the same on all the machines?

Thanks.

Tomcsi, I don't know what is causing the problem you are encountering.  What is the target OS in the image?

Can you run DA manually and append the /debug switch to the command line and then email the ghDplyAw32.txt file to michael_franklin at symantec dot com?

Deploy Anywhere:Image from Dell 750 for deply to HP Dx223

Hi Michael ,

I  need to push out a new tested Image from Dell 750 PC to HP dx 2230's

I use the normal Task to clone a  PC (group ) with the single addition of tick on deploy Anywhere.

can you give me a brief detail on what settings need to go in the Deploy Anywhere task pane, I have the Intel driver for NIC.

Also if any other potential problems in using an Image from Dell to HP PC

Thank you

Tom

spohcog, please open a new thread describing the problems you are encountering.  The HALs and chipsets do not need to be the same on the source and target machines.

same error

Has anyone resolved this issue?  I am getting a similar error. It says a test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. Bad allocation.

I am using DA from the cd. the command I used is x:\ghost\ghplyaw32.exe /target=c:\windows /ddb=e:\windrivers.

Does anyone know what the error means?
