Deploy to other computers on lan

Hi,

       Please logon to this site and download the CD1 folder. In this folder you need to go Documentation\administration_guide.pdf. This file has the information that you require.

Start the Migration and

Start the Migration and Deployment Wizard from Start > Programs > Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager > Follow the On Screen instructions to deploy the clients.

Please ensure that Simple File Sharing is disabled in the client computer, and File sharing exceptions are enabled in Windows Firewall.

You can push using : 1. Group

You can push using :

1. Group Provider Update " In group click on Install Packages" and select the package what will you push

2. Using clientremote.exe (for use this tools, extract your package from sepm and after push it with this utility)

How?

I cannot believe it or I did not understand you.
You have an empty group and you assign a package to it, in this way how does SEPM know the IP addresses of your clients to deploy SEP on them? What about the credentials required for a remote installation? SEPM is not designed to exploit your clients...
The Install Packages within Clients is only to upgrade an already installed SEP client.

Giuseppe

@eddy

Group Update Provider -is only for Definition updates. on the clients in that group.
It does not support Client Upgrades. When you assign a package on a group it does not go to your GUP but it directly installs on all the clients in that group from the MANAGER directly to the CLIENT.

To install SEP on a client remotely either you can use Find Unamanaged Computers -Directly from the Manager without txporting a package.

Once you have exported a client install package then you can use  -Migration or deployment Wizard ( Clientremote.exe )  and other 3rd party deployment solutions like GPO,Altiris,SMS,Tivoli etc.
