  • 1.  Deploying software in client machine.

    Hi All,

     

    I am very much new to SEPM , i have to know whether we can deploy .msi or .exe files through SEPM 12.1.3 to the client machines in my network.

    How to view the softwares list of client machines through Reports tab.

    Which of the software list you require?

    If you require the sofware list from altiris then see the thread

    There are default reports available for you if you go to Reports > All Reports, then expand Reports > Discovery and Inventory > Inventory > Cross-platform > Software/Applications > Installed Software or Installed Software by Computer.  For example, using the Installed Software report, type '%Adobe%' for the Company OR '%Lync%' for the Name

    How to view the softwares list of client machines through Reports tab.

    You can't find any software list through SEPM,

    For the deployment of SEP client you can choose the autoupgrade feature from SEPM or for pending systems use the software deployment wizard

    Guys

     

    I have a thirdparty software( for eg. Office,Skype etc) which needs to be installed in 5k client machines which are reporting to SEPM. Is there any ways to do that?

    Should that be made as a package or something to deploy on client machines.

    No, That's not possible to SEPM.

    Software installation you can use symantec altiris or using Group policy.

    SEPM is not manage the all software. It only manage the SEP clients.

    For the all software deployment you need to go through Altiris Server.
