Has Altiris released a projected release date for Deployment Server 7? I ask this because I'm already deploying Windows Server 2008.

I think Deployment Server 6.9 is what you're looking for...
The Altiris Deployment Server 6.9 has full support for Windows Vista AND Windows Server 2008. The DS 6.9 DAgent can used to manage your Win2K8 and Vista systems, now. You can download the Deployment Solution for Clients/Server 6.9 via the Altiris website, under DOWNLOADS.

In a previous post someone had this to say about deployment solution 7.0.
Deployment solution 7.0 is the NS version of deployment. Currenlty it only supports Windows XP and Vista. Now, Deployment Server 6.9 SP1 manages desktop and servers as clients.
I would think the next SP1 release to NS 7.x (CMS or SMS) it might have a version of deployment solution closer to the deployment server.

Out of curiosity... DS clients/servers
What is the difference between installing DS for Clients versus DS for Servers? If you install one can you install the other too?

The functionality is the same
The functionality is the same for both clients and servers. The difference is in the license you need and the $$$. You only have to download one time.
Looking at partners you find HP RDP based on Deployment Server to deploy bare metal servers. Same goes for DS for Dell Servers.
