First let me say this is a great site I have been lurking and reading alot on this site since being tagged the Altiris Admin at my job. Keep up the great work.

Alright my company is currently running Altiris 6.9 and we have purchased Altiris CMS 7.1 and we will be rollilng it out in the next couple months. We have 26 different sites that like I said currently have Altiris 6.9. In total we have 6400 clients. Each site will have a site server with package service, task service and deployment service installed.

Currently some sites have more then one subnet and each site has its own PXE server configuration but if they do have additional subnets with clients residing on them we have a server that is mainly used for something else that resides on that subnet with the PXE services installed on it so those clients not on the main PXE servers subnet can PXE boot. My question is will be able to the same with 7.1. Does that DS for the other subnets need to have the Package service, task service and deployment service installed on it as well even though it is just so the clients on another subnet can PXE boot.

I have read you can use IP helpers and Force DHCP are there problems with using those solutions. If we can I would like to use the same configuration we did for 6.9 but really don't have the hardware to put a dedicated Deployment server on each subnet at each location. I hope I am making sense. Thanks for your help in advance.

check the Altiris™ IT Management Suite 7.1 SP1 from Symantec™ Planning and Implementation Guide.  The sites section I think could help you implement what you looking for. So you could combine subnets to a site and keep Deployment Components to a minimun.
