  • 1.  Deployment Target Version and Deployment Running Version vs. Client Software Version

    Hi all,

    We just newly deploy the upgrade of the sep version, upon checking there's a descrepancy with the value of these three

    Deployment Target Version:

    Deployment Running Version:

    Client Software Version:

    Please see images below.

    I'm not sure why they have different value but i think they all should be the same, please enlighten me

    can someone provide an article explaning why these three is having different values?

    The running version is the current version of the running SEP client.

    The target version is the version it will upgrade to.

    Certain components/engines of SEP can upgrade without reboot but you still need to reboot the box to complete the upgrade and get everything to match up.

    Reboot is required for complete protection and for new version to completley take over. Until then current version components protect your machine. Once reboot complteted newer version will take over and delte all existing components of older version.
