Is this by design?
Here's the scenario.
Version is 11.0 MR4MP2 across the board. Clients are XP SP3.
Here is what my group structure under SEPM looks like:
Workstations
- On-shore
- Off-shore
Normally clients are stored in Workstations. However our ESX farm was crushed the other day during our monthly virus scan. We created the two subgroups with different scanning options (mainly the scheduled scan) so that we wouldn't have our entire farm attempting to scan at once. The subgroups do NOT have policy inheritence. When I move a client from Workstations to the subgroup it starts the scan over even though it just completed less than 4 hours ago.
When moving a client into a new group that does not have policy inheritence are there certain client flags that are essentially cleared and everything starts over? I've tried this even moving a client today back into the Workstation group and it re-launched the monthly scan.

Whenever you will move the
Whenever you will move the client from one group to other the client will take the policy from that Group.
If the client has not done a scan under the new plicy then it will start a scan no matter whenever the scan was completed under the OLD policy.
The scan timing are stored in the registery of the client when you chnage the group the registery value gets chnaged hence the scan starts again with the new value.
Hope this answeres your question.
