    Hi

    Can anybody guide how to enter warranty details so that we will get our desktop, laptop information throgh asset management solution 7.1 sp2

    Hi CBZ1904,

    Predefined configuration item types are the templates that define what data is created and stored about a specific configuration item. Asset Management Suite provides predefined configuration item types for many types of assets.

    For example, in the category Contracts you have:

    Contract, Lease Schedule, Master Lease, NDA, Service Level Agreement, Warranty.

    HOWTO45857 have information about contract configuration item types - http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO45857

    Warranties consist of hardware details, schedule, and financial information. The warranty contract type lets you track the information that relates to the warranty. For example, you can track payments, expiration date, and associated serial numbers.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I mean to say that I want to configure desktop or laptop warranty details, which desktop or laptop warranty gets expired on which date.

    OK. You should create the Warranty contracts and associate them to the related computers (desktops or laptops).

    On the Create Warranty page, you should select the Covered Hardware, and enter the Start Date, End Date values.

    Under Reports > Service and Asset Management > Contract Management, there is a report Contracts Expiring in N Days that lets you view the expiration information.

    Hi Trinu

    We have setup as per screenshots provided by you.

    But how we can identiy that which are that computers whos warranty is going to expired

    In automation mail it not showing any details information or atleast hostname of the computers or devices

    Hello,

    With the help of ‘Lookup’ button present at ‘Covered Hardware’ data class, you can identify the computer resource.   I hope that you have executed ‘Inventory to Asset synchronization’ task and added resources for warranty under ‘Covered Hardware’ by using ‘Add List’ button and not using ‘add’ button(manual serial number entry).

    If you have done the serial number entry manually (using add button) or using data connector ,then make sure that same serial number should exist/added on the edit page of same computer resource under the ‘serial number’ data class. Then only ‘lookup’ will work.

    Please let me know whether your issue is resolved or not.

    Video is incomplete 

    In your attach there is another video in video which is 5 min 

    we not able to that complete 5 min video which is very helpfull for us

    after this what warranty report we can get through automation policy

    Can we get report which are the desktop who's warranty going to expire

    Can we in automation mail
