This issue has been solved. See solution.

I've found so many desktop.ini in many locations after allowing one of my colleague to access his remote workstation using logmein (https://secure.logmein.com/home.asp?lang=en)
I just want to know can i remove / delete these desktop.ini files? Will it do any harm to my laptop?
What is the consequences if I removed them all?

You can remove them

You can remove them all.
If there is one you really need, Windows will tell you at the moment you try to remove them.
Your portable will not encounter errors afterwards.

Thanks for the info. But

Thanks for the info. But actually I'm just afraid I've removed the wrong copy of the desktop.ini which might causes some system error later.

Desktop.ini is...

a file that Windows Explorer uses to keep track of customizations that you make to a folder, such as changing it's icon, view style, etc. As Erik says, you can safely delete the file, and the worst thing that can happen is your folder won't have it's custom settings any longer. You can also tell explorer to "hide protected operating system files", which is in the folder options. The desktop.ini file will still be there, you just won't see it.
