Detailed status of Flushed logs in Activity Monitor

Created: 13 Nov 2012 | 4 comments

Hi All,

I need a detailed status of particular job ID which have been flushed from Activity Monitor. Is there any way I can get those old logs?

I have the job_id with me and also the start time and the end time. But I need to know which image it took to restore. We have restored VMs and we are not able to find which image we have restored. Any help possible?

I don't think you can - I have never heard of any method that let you easily put them back.

Anything I can think of is the bptm log on the media server. If they cover the time period you may be able to see what backup id was read.

Maybe Opscenter if installed.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

You can get backup id from logs. Try "bperror -jobid job_id [...other options]".

Logs are kept for 28 days by default.

Try All Log Entries report in the GUI.
Yasuhisa's bperror will narrow it down.

Other logs that will also contain image number:
bprd on master
bpbrm on media server
bptm on media server (as pointed out by Nicolai).
