detection server not communicationg with agent

hello all,

This is my first time installing DLP products.

After installing the one-tier installation My endpoint detection server is not able to see my agent.  On the detection server  I see the following: [status: starting & endpointserver status: starting]. dont know if they are going to start at all!

I have tryied uninstalling the agent but still does work. I haven't been able to find a clear set of instructions on how to properly install the agent.

Hi ,

Try to telnet the endpoint server from the agent system on port 8000.

i.e, >>  telnet endpointserver 8000

By the way if the agent is shown on the enforce then that means the right server is used while trying to install the agent.

Also check the following log file for any related communication error :

X:\SymantecDLP\Protect\logs\debug\Aggregator0.log

NOTE : Singe tier installation is not officially supported on a production environment. You may get a best effort support though.

while installing, have you provided the server information?

Hi,

Check windows firewall services is stop or not and telnet port 8000 Server to client.

hi,

can you right click the agent installer.  then delete the /q parameter.

then provide the server info.
