The full backup is failing from last 3 weeks and the Incremental backups completes successfully and some it fails.

The full backup fails with the error as below:

===============================================================

Storage device "HP1" reported an error on a request to write data to media.

Error reported:

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

V-79-57344-34036 - An unknown erroe has occurred.

A selection on device D: was skipped because of previous errors with the job.

=================================================================

when checked the properties of "HP1" in Backup Exec console

i found

Soft read errors: 8

hard read errors:14

Hard write erros: 13

please give me solution for this issue.

thanks is advance.

Unless there is a physical fault, this is usually resolved by upgrading firmware and or drivers

To check for a hardware fault run a few passes of  HP's diagnostics routine

If this response answers your concern, please mark it as a "solution"
